A Lot Better Than You Think
I thought this game was going to be terrible with ugly graphics, but it's the complete opposite. This game was the highpoint of our Christmas 08. The animals are adorable, and the minigames are fun and simple. They gave quite a good selection of pets to choose from, so you won't get bored using the same pet over and over. The graphics are great, and the game can keep you entertained for a few hours.

The problem is, the Wii version is not a multiplayer game, which I thought was disappointing. Also, the simplicity of this game makes it very easy to beat, and if you work fast enough, you'll have this game completed in a few hours. Also, once you beat the game, there is not really enough left to do, except play the same minigames over and over (which gets tedious and repetitive after some time) and buying items you didn't get beforehand.

Overall, this is a suprisingly fun game, and I recommend it!

A favorite at our house
My 6-year old daughter received this game when she was five. She still enjoys playing it! She recently received Littlest Pet Shop Friends, which she finished very quickly. I would recommend this game over Littlest Pet Shop Friends. Both games are very cute and fun, but the newer game seems shorter.

Perfect Wii game for a little girl!
My 4 year old daughter LOVES this game!!! We looked and looked for a game that was just for her and THIS IS IT!!! It took one time for me to sit with her and show her how, but now she can do it all by herself. She giggles the whole time she plays it. She feeds, dresses, scratches and plays with her pets. As she keeps them happy, more pets come by train to her pet shop. She loves it! She has dressed up all her little pets in princess crowns. The graphics are adorable and the games are fun and just right for her. My son is into Lego Star Wars, now she has one she can do too. (even my 6 year old boy is wanting a turn playing with these cute pets and dressing them up :) This has been one of my best Wii purchases for small children!

Need to be able to read for independent play
I bought this game as a gift for my 2 girls (ages 4 and 6) and they seem to love it. The animation is very cute and they love being able to dress up their pets.

However, there are soooo many boxes that pop up giving instructions, so if your child cannot read, this would NOT be a game they could play themselves. I sat down and played with my 4 year old and read her the instructions as they popped up, but even then, there were so many boxes and "thought bubbles" to click on to get where you are supposed to go and buy what you are supposed to buy, I can see how it could be very confusing!

We also have the Barbie riding camp game, and while the instructions pop up on the screen, they are also played audibly so even if the child cannot read they can still play independently.

My girls do love this LPS game, it has a fun concept, my six year old can play just fine, but I only give it three stars due to the reading aspect, and also what seems like complicated game play.

My granddaughter's favorite game
I'm always on the lookout for Wii games that my 5-year-old granddaughter can play. This has been the biggest hit yet! She loves this game. She has played it through numerous times - collecting all the pets then starting over again. She loves dressing the pets and taking care of them. You can quickly switch from one pet to the other and then scratch, feed, and dress them. She loves all the games that are included.

The main goal is to adopt pets. You start with three pets. You earn the right to adopt more pets by playing games with the pets you have. The games are fun and can be played at any time. There are three levels (easy, medium, and hard) on every game, so they are suitable for a wide age group. I love playing some of the games. You earn "kibble" by playing games and picking up coins. The kibble is used to buy new pets, toys, and accessories. There are a variety of pets - a monkey, a polar bear, a giraffe, cats, dogs, and ponies - and they are adorable. You can go to the salon and select accessories - glasses, collars, and hats - for each pet.

There is some reading throughout the game, and each pet has to be named. She doesn't read or write, so she needs my help with those aspects of the game. Children who can read and write would need no help with this game. My granddaughter and I both love this game, and we love playing it together. I highly recommend it!
